A clean tattooing process isn’t just about appearances. Excess ink pooling, splatter, and uncontrolled flow can make it harder to see what you’re doing, force constant wiping, and increase trauma to the skin.

When ink isn’t regulated properly:

Spearhead cartridges are engineered to control ink at the source. Our ink regulation system, which includes a precisely sized capillary hole near the tip and a slender needle nozzle, manages internal ink pressure during both needle extension and retraction. This helps prevent ink dumping, pooling, and unpredictable splatter.

The result is cleaner skin, clearer visibility, fewer ink dips, and a smoother workflow throughout the session.

Why “Stable” Is Just as Important

Stability is what allows an artist to trust every pass of the needle. When a cartridge lacks proper stabilization, the needle can wobble, rattle, or shift side-to-side — especially at higher speeds or during long sessions.

Spearhead cartridges are designed around controlled, zero-clearance needle movement. Our dual V-shaped needle guides support the needle shaft from both above and below, keeping it centered and aligned throughout the stroke. A banded stabilizing membrane applies directional force, guiding the needle smoothly while reducing vibration and unwanted movement.

This creates a more controlled, predictable feel  even under demanding setups.
